Comparative Analysis of Next-Generation Space Computing Applications on AMD-Xilinx Versal Architecture

What is it about?

This paper presents an evaluation of the AMD-Xilinx Versal Adaptive SoC for next-generation applications for space through the deployment of representative image-classification and communication applications. We show that the performance and energy-efficiency benefits of the Versal are significant and therefore the device can be leveraged in future missions to address the increasing onboard-processing needs of next-generation applications for space.
