New Adaptive Algorithm Development for Monitoring Aircraft Performance and Improving Flight Management System Predictions

What is it about?

For the flight planning of an aircraft, the avionics system called Flight Management System (FMS) is used. In this paper, an algorithm that would be adapted in flight to the degradation of the aircraft and its propulsive system is designed. This algorithm, that would be implemented in the FMS, would adapt continuously in flight due to the changes in the aircraft performances. The algorithm was designed and validated on the FMS of the business aircraft Cessna Citation X.
