What is it about?
Testing Active Flutter Suppression control laws can be dangerous and expensive. By using closed-loop control, stable and safe aeroelastic systems can be turned into system that flutter in different ways (portraying different flutter mechanisms of interest). Such systems can be used for testing Active Flutter Suppression control laws safely, since the minute dangerous oscillations are detected, the destabilizing and stabilizing control loops can be instantaneously deactivated and the systems become stable again.
