What is it about?
Without station keeping, the orbital plane of a geosynchronous satellite will naturally drift over time. We present a simple, empirical model to predict and analyze the mean plane drift of a geosynchronous orbit. We detail several practical applications of the model to conserve spacecraft propellant and achieve desired orbit plane drift characteristics.
