What is it about?
T}he history of geostationary satellite stationkeeping traces back to the early days of satellite communications, marked by the launch of the first geostationary satellite, Syncom 3, in 1964. Stationkeeping, the process of maintaining a satellite's position within its designated orbital slot, became crucial as more satellites were deployed in geostationary Earth orbits (GEO) to facilitate global communications. Consequently, stationkeeping of GEO satellites is a widely-studied problem. This paper presents a new stationkeeping method with proven stability characteristics, so the satellite is able to keep its per-designated station, and, furthermore, control it autonomously without the intervention of ground operators.
