What is it about?
This paper presents and discusses restrictions and limitations on achievable performance for dynamical systems under feedback control. Specifically, based on the Bode integral theorem and its extensions, it is shown that the system sensitivity to disturbances and noise depends on the open-loop unstable modes, and for those systems achievable specifications/requirements are independent of a selected control design method. A numerical example is added to demonstrate the main points raised within the paper.
