What is it about?
Describing the effects of distant encounters is paramount for a complete understanding of phenomena leading to collisions with celestial bodies. This work introduces a novel model of sphere of influence and couples it with the three-body dynamics, predicting potentially impacting trajectories beyond the capabilities of the simpler two-body models.
