What is it about?
Conventional fixed-wing drones offer long duration, high speed flight for a variety of applications. However, one disadvantage is their need for large and obstacle-free landing sites. Exploiting stall offers the possibility of reducing the size requirement for landing sites. This work presents a number of advancements for uncrewed aerial vehicles operating near and in stall - particularly focusing on pressure sensors for estimating flow states and providing a rich dataset with wind tunnel and real flight data, covering normal and stalled flight.
