What is it about?

In demanding terrestrial and maritime missions, helicopters must possess aggressive maneuvering, precise command tracking, and stability in turbulence. In practice, many conventional helicopters do not respond in a manner specified by the dynamic response requirements. We propose a robust sliding mode controller that not only stabilizes the bare-airframe helicopter, but also allows it to perform aggressive maneuvers in turbulent conditions.
