What is it about?
As part of the upcoming Mars 2020 rover mission, NASA is sending a small autonomous helicopter to Mars. Mars differs greatly from Earth in terms of its thin atmosphere and reduced gravity. We show how these factors affect the design and behavior of the helicopter, and discuss the process of demonstrating controlled flight in Mars atmospheric conditions.
