What is it about?
The concept of urban air mobility, or transportation by aircraft within a single metropolitan area, has received a great deal of investment and aircraft development since 2016. We review how such a system may actually be operated in 3 U.S. cities and reveal eight challenges that could hinder its implementation.The results suggest significant operational hurdles remain for urban air mobility despite the introduction of new electric aircraft and technologies.
