What is it about?

Hybrid wing body (HWB) aircraft replace the horizontal stabilizer and ailerons with multiple elevons. With the traditional tail volume coefficient method, it is challenging to assess the stability and control characteristics at the conceptual design stage. We develop a novel approach to allow designers to incorporate physics-based stability and control assessment for HWB in conceptual design space exploration.
