What is it about?

The flow developed by the rotors of a quadcopter is complex, the interactions between the wakes, and with the fuselage affect the performance of the rotors. This study uses the UVLM to simulate the flow developed by an isolated rotor, four rotors without a fuselage, and a quadcopter including a simplified fuselage. Results show how the interaction of the wakes, and the presence of a fuselage affects the thrust and torque developed by the rotors of a quadcopter.
