What is it about?

Ship airwake analysis was conducted using high- and mid-fidelity computational solvers. Detailed analysis of flow characteristics of the ship airwake was conducted and the results obtained from two solvers were compared to experimental data. These results revealed that the mid-fidelity solver was able to predict the flow field without significant differences compared to the high-fidelity method at a much higher computational efficiency.
