What is it about?
The paper describes the development of a light liquid hydrogen titanium tank designed for ultra-long-range UAV applications. It shows the potential of a hydrogen propulsion system that can be used for aerial vehicles of up to 25 kilograms enabling multiple-day mission capabilities. It points out the importance of boil-off evolution in the function of ambient conditions and the level of fuel in the tank. Also, it analyses the performance of the aircraft in the function of the propulsion system and points out possible improvements in aircraft design.
