What is it about?

Strongly varying aircraft designs are subject to a comparative overall assessment with respect to their acoustic performance. Different goals and noise metrics are evaluated in order to identify the most promising concept. Significant noise reduction can be attributed to the blended-wing-body concept. Yet, the specific goal of "Flightpath 2050" with significant reduction of the perceived noise levels cannot be reached. Additional technical measures are identified and discussed.
