What is it about?

This investigation proposes and demonstrates a semi-empirical method for predicting limit-cycle oscillations (LCO) on the F-16. The method relies on flight test data to derive and calibrate nonlinear structural damping, which can then be used to predict for flight conditions that had not been previously flown. Application of this method may drastically reduce the time and cost of certifying stores configurations.
