What is it about?
This paper explores the potential of utilising the fuel saving benefit of two aircraft flying in formation by looking at how we can maximum savings on a global level. We show for a wide range of possible drag-reductions and over three distinct case studies (Transatlantic Flights, Low Cost Carrier and Long-Haul Airline) that there is huge potential for fuel, money and CO2 emission savings.
