What is it about?

The strut-braced wing configuration is being considered as an alternative to reduce fuel burn of next generation aircraft. We use a RANS-based aerodynamic shape optimization framework to minimize drag of a strut-braced wing. Then we analyze the optimized shape to obtain insights regarding the design of such configuration.
