What is it about?
When the aircraft tires temperature being increased, the rubber hardness became low, therefore, the wear can be happened easily.

Why is it important?
The rubber on the runway is dangerous as the runway friction became less which can led to aircraft slip. Also, removing the rubber is costing and suspend the runway use for hrs. Moreover, the tire lifetime is decreasing which mean producing more rubber ( increasing rubber factories time), that’s mean more emissions plus the emissions from the landing smoke.
Perspectives
This work has been done by using ANSYS simulation, the thermal and mechanical are coupled which was very interesting and challenging.
