What is it about?

We propose a rocket engine using highly-pressurized hydrogen for a sub-orbital plane. The plane shows similar peformance to a hybrid rocket plane, but does not produce greenhouse gas during flight. The engine does not use a turboupump. It will make an economic system.

Why is it important?

It does not need a turbopump, which pressurizes propellant, for example, from 0.3 MPa to 10 MPa. Development and production costs of the turbopumps very large. Use of the highly-pressurized hydrogen makes a rocket engine turbopump-free. When liquid hydrogen is used for fuel, venting hydrogen vapor safely through exhaust systems remains challenging, especially when aircraft are idling or parked. Liquid hydrogen storage requires substantial thermal insulation, and helium is typically used to purge associated plumbing and components.

Perspectives

I think the system will help to realize ecomonic propulsion system and transportation system fot sub-orbital flight and point-to-point flight.
