What is it about?
Electrifying a carbon-fuel based propulsion system (i.e. a hybrid propulsion system) would enable the concept of a modular hybrid propulsion system for which electrical components are interchangeable for each individual mission to enable flight vehicle performance flexibility. The work provides guideline for selecting the optimal attributes of and illustrates the flexibility afforded by modular hybrid propulsion system.
