What is it about?
Turbomachinery flows experience laminar-to-turbulent transition, which needs to be captured by computational fluid dynamic methods. We introduce a transitional delayed detached-eddy simulation (DDES) model and assess computational results critically. The effectiveness of transitional DDES is emphasized, while strengths, expectations and limitations of this approach are discussed.
