What is it about?
Technical needs of space missions call for small scale and power plasma thrusters. We study a 50 W hall thruster using a numerical hybrid model and experimental measurements. We use the results to discuss discharge current oscillations, the presence of slow ions and the influence of the non self-sustained external cathode operation on the thruster performance.
