What is it about?
As integrated electric starter/generator (ES/G) is becoming popular in gas-turbine engines for aerospace applications, we show how this ES/G, such a two-role device, could be used as an actuator during flight to impose extra shaft torque. The imposed extra shaft torque is shown to enhance engine transient operations.
