What is it about?
Accelerator grid erosion is one of the primary life-limiting mechanisms for gridded ion thrusters. In this paper we present results from physics-based simulations of this erosion in the T6 ion thruster, which is providing in-space propulsion for the BepiColombo mission to Mercury.
