What is it about?
Deploying GPS-like satellite systems to Mars is challenging, as these constellations use multiple orbit planes which are not readily accessible upon arrival at the planet. We demonstrate how aerocapture with concurrent plane rotation can be used to access these planes from a common launch and arrival trajectory. The proposed deployment method can significantly reduce the cost and time required to deploy a satellite navigation system at Mars.
