What is it about?
Tropical cyclones TCs are highly dynamic and destructive natural disasters and are monitored in many ways by various technologies. One of the primary technologies used to monitor TCs are Earth observation satellites in low Earth orbit. This paper conducts a comparative analysis between two state-of-the-art concepts of satellite operations that have been researched to improve monitoring of TCs. Historical TC data is used for this comparative analysis, and results are presented with respect to the performance of each concept of operations for all TCs.
