What is it about?
A high-precision pointing control of long truss structures is proposed. By using artificial thermal expansion, a reliable system is constructed. By using model predictive control, efficient control is achieved against periodic disturbances on the track. Furthermore, it is shown that the system identification technique enables adaptive control even when the system characteristics change.
