What is it about?

Collisions in space often destroy the involved satellites and pollute the space environment with debris. Orbit coordination methods can prevent potential collisions between satellites within a particular system and between nearby systems controlled by different operators. We demonstrate how to use orbit coordination methods to assess the efficiency, opportunity cost, and remaining space for large satellite constellations in regions of Low Earth Orbit. We discuss how orbit coordination measures could gain wider adoption.
