What is it about?

For multiple spacecraft flying in formation, it is important to understand their relative motion, and this is typically done based on the position vector of the central spacecraft. We present complementary expressions that are instead based on the velocity vector of the central spacecraft, and show that they are more intuitive for a number of relevant scenarios.
