What is it about?

The Deep Space Atomic Clock has superior stability characteristics as compared to state of the art space clocks, we show that orbit determination with one-way radiometric data derived using DSAC yields similar orbit uncertainties to traditional two-way data, and is upwards of three times better than solutions derived using an Ultra Stable Oscillator. These results have been obtained using data collected during DSAC's demonstration mission in orbit that completed operations in September 2021.
