What is it about?

Flapping wing flight comes more and more into focus by providing an innovative approach to propulsion. We investigate the dynamics of the insect-inspired "Nimble+" produced by Flapper Drones and develop a new controller able to carry heavy payloads.

Why is it important?

A new modelling approach is presented in this paper. This approach simplifies the modelling of systems featuring complex dynamics while giving the opportunity to easily adapt the system's geometry, inertia or complexity without having to change the control loop itself.
