What is it about?
Nonlinear finite element solvers can require a high computational effort for complex problems. Physics based manipulations enables us to approximate the solutions using simpler form of the finite element equations. In this paper we investigate the effectiveness of one such model, called the Koiter-Newton method, and demonstrate significant reduction in computational time in nonlinear dynamic analyses.
