What is it about?

Hydrogen is the primary coolant for eliminating boil-off from liquid oxygen tanks in launch vehicles. Catalyzing the hydrogen flow can significantly increasing the cooling potential. We tested several catalyst loaded scrims and developed a computational model for estimating catalytic activity.
