What is it about?

The combustion of jet fuels is a a very complex process which involves thousands of chemical reactions. In simulations of realistic, turbulent flames, this process must be reduced to a short list of key representative reactions without a significant loss of accuracy. Here we present and successfully test a new set of highly reduced mechanisms for conventional jet fuel, sustainable jet fuel, ethanol, and heptane.
