What is it about?

Bladed disks with under-platform dampers are difficult to model because of the nonlinearities, due to friction, that are introduced from the dampers. This work builds two linear models that capture the bounds for the nonlinear system response. Amplitudes from the computational simulations are compared to measured test data to determine the effectiveness of the simplified linear analysis.
