What is it about?

The self-pulsation in a GCSC injector has the potential to couple with combustion chamber acoustics. In the present study, we investigate the spatio-temporal behavior of the liquid sheet as it evolves downstream of the nozzle of a forced GCSC injector. We observe that the beat frequency prevails for a longer downstream distance. The effect of forcing is observed even in the primary breakup region. The increase in the swirl and recess is observed to reduce the amplitude of both the natural and the forcing frequency. However, the increase in the acoustic tube length is not observed to have any effect. In any of the cases, the influence of frequencies is not present in the droplet.
