What is it about?
We demonstrate the aeroelastic effectiveness of corrugated cross section of an insect-sized flapping wing through a numerical parametric study. Our numerical results indicate that the corrugated cross section is effective in providing both a preferable passive deformation and a light-weight structure, which enhances the hovering efficiency of the flapping wing.
