What is it about?

By introducing an additional Laval nozzle with a larger throat and a settling chamber into the configuration of conventional hypersonic Ludwieg tube wind tunnel, a variant dual-throat design of Ludwieg tube wind tunnel can be realized. This novel configuration of Ludwieg tube is applicable and it offers opportunity for flow quality improvement for conventional Ludwieg tubes with small penalty of reducing the tunnel’s efficient running time.
