What is it about?

The paper shows that gyro-stabilized systems can be made exponentially stable by using indefinite damping. This result stands in contrast to the Kelvin-Tait-Cataev result that states that gyrostabilized systems become unstable in the presence of dissipative damping. The idea is to use dissipative damping along with the injection of energy in a properly balanced manner so that the system is made exponentially stable.
