What is it about?
This book covers the basics from understanding the overall ship resistance and propulsion problem, to the components of resistance, extrapolation to full scale, ship and model correlation and prediction of resistance using methodical series, computational fluid dynamics and hull design. It also deals with propulsion and has a useful collection of sample problems and various appendices concerning background physics, derivation of Egger’s formula for wave resistance, and tabulations of resistance and propulsion data.
