What is it about?

Earth’s oblateness is often a neglected factor in the design of infrared horizon sensors, but it can cause severe periodic errors in low-orbit applications. We propose a simple and effective method to eliminate the effect of the Earth's oblateness using only rough prior attitude knowledge. It is very suitable for low-orbit horizon sensor designs.
