What is it about?

As the number of satellites in orbit increases, end-of-life strategies acquire importance in spacecraft mission design. We develop an analytical method based on the Hamiltonian representation of the dynamics, considering the coupling effect of the planet's oblateness and third body attraction. This methodology aims at providing a tool for preliminary manoeuvre design with minimum fuel consumption and discusses the advantages and limitations of the approach.
