What is it about?
When spacecraft orbiting the Earth or another body are very close to one another, their natural unforced relative motion can be described as a weighted sum of simpler constituent motions. This paper takes advantage of this property to develop techniques for analyzing satellite relative motion and also implementing control strategies for achieving desired motions. The results are demonstrated for the case that the spacecraft are orbiting Earth and for the case that the spacecraft are orbiting in special repeating "Halo" orbits near the moon.
