What is it about?

For helicopter rotors in hover, reducing the power required can increase the payload the vehicle can carry. In order to predict rotor performance and efficiency, computational aerodynamics methods are often used. In this work, two different boundary layer transition models are used with computational aerodynamics in order to compare predicted performance and behavior of a helicopter rotor.
