What is it about?

Nuclear fusion is a promising method of space propulsion, but is difficult to ignite and creates copious amounts of ionizing radiation which can damage the spacecraft. We outline the impacts of a well known nuclear physics technique, spin polarization, on fusion rockets and show that the reaction is easier to ignite as well as emitting less radiation onto the spacecraft.
