What is it about?
Models for the shock train are compared against detailed experimental measurements to create a 3D schematic of an asymmetric shock train. This comparison shows poor prediction from current models. The presence of disruptive flow structures and spotty separated flow structures challenges the validity of some of the assumptions underlying the these models.
