What is it about?
Turbomachinery flow field is inherently unsteady with strong time and space periodicity. The time and space periodicity has been made use of to develop efficient reduced order methods. The current reduced order methods become inefficient for cases which have strong nonlinearity and rich frequency components. In this paper we propose a new method called time vector marching method to deal with the deficiency of existing methods for complicated temporally periodic flows. The time vector marching method is free from Gibbs phenomenon, as accurate as the time domain dual time stepping method, but much more efficient as demonstrated by case studies.
