What is it about?
When traveling in space, rockets do not deliver their spacecraft exactly to the desired target orbit. This initial error must be corrected to return to the mission plan for the spacecraft. However, the cheapest error-free target trajectory may be a sensitive one that results in more expensive corrections. This work presents a trajectory design method to find a robust trajectory that minimizes the cost of embarking on a trajectory plus the cost of the maneuver required to correct the initial error and hit the target.
